Product Review - It Tastes RAAW Vegetable Fruit Juices
Today I would like to introduce you to a company called Raw Foods International which manufactures delicious vegetable fruit juices which are called It Tastes RAAW.
Here is a little bit of information about the company from their marketing materials: In March 2010, Raw Foods International made a splash at the BevNet Supple Expo in Anaheim California. In an age where fast food overshadows family dinner, Raw Foods International is taking a different approach by focusing on selling high quality vegetable fruit juices. Each refreshing juice is uniquely designed to contribute to your overall health and wellness. "It Tastes RAAW is essentially taking the juicer out of the mix and offers a fresh product, requiring no effort from the consumer, aside from enjoying their juice experience while on the run or at home."
It Tastes RAAW vegetable fruit juice contains no added sugar or preservatives and is packed with vital nutrients not meant to sustain hunger, but to keep your body balanced throughout the day. It Tastes RAAW comes in 4 delicious flavors: Better Beets, Cucumber Pineapple, Carrot Lemonade and Cranberry Ginger. It Tastes RAAW won First Place in the 2008 Western Hemisphere Premier Food and Beverage Show!
My Product Review: I was recently contacted by the generous folks in their marketing department and asked if I would do a product review of the It Tastes RAAW beverages...I of course, said yes. I was sent an entire case to try out which contained 3 bottles of each of the 4 flavors. My husband and I are both avid veggie and fruit juice drinkers so we are anxious to try them out.
I decided to try out the cucumber pineapple first and from the very first sip, I was hooked! I poured my juice into a glass of ice and enjoyed it from start to finish. It was smooth, refreshing and had a fabulous taste with no after-taste. It really did taste great! My husband decided to try out the cranberry ginger juice and he drank his straight from the bottle. At first he wasn't sure what to make of it but after a few swallows, he was enjoying it! Matter of fact, 2 hours later he asked me for another one! I decided to let my mother try out the better beet juice and she poured it into a glass of ice. She said it tasted smooth and better than any other type of beet juice that she has tried. Since my daughter is the lemonade drinker in the house, I decided to let her try out the carrot lemonade flavor. She wasn't sure if she would like it because she is not fond of carrots...however, after just a few swallows she commented to me that she loved the juice and wanted to take the other 2 bottles home with her. She said it had a pleasant slightly sweet taste with no after-taste to it.

For as much as I love fresh fruits and vegetables, I never seem to get enough of them into my diet! Because of this, I drink two servings of 100% real fruit or vegetable juice each day. It Tastes RAAW makes real juice blends that contain no added sugar or preservatives, just 100% fruit and vegetable juices. The founders of RAW Foods International started this juice company in the kitchen of their very own restaurant! They purchased a juicer and blender from Walmart, and started making RAW juices! The goal was to created delicious tasting juices that even children would enjoy. After creating some unique flavor combinations, they started selling their juices in their restaurant. In order to get an unbiased opinion from their customers, they played the old switcheroo and said they were selling the juices for someone else. Their juices became an instant hit!
In August 2008, they decided to sell their restaurant and open a juice establishment. Shortly thereafter, they formed RAW Foods International. Then in September 2008, they entered their juices in the Western Hemisphere Premier Food & Beverage Show in Miami. They ended up winning the "Best Non-Alcoholic Beverages in the Americas" award! It Tastes RAAW went on to be featured in "Beverage Industry Magazine", as well as on NBC 6 news! Now their goal is to go national (and eventually international!) with their incredible line of juices.

RAAW Juices started in the kitchen of their restaurant. They purchased a juicer at Wal-Mart for $35.95 and a Blender for $21.00 and some change and decided to make their juices RAW. After coming up with their unique juice combinations, the decided to sell them in their restaurant but decided to tell the customers that they were carrying the line for another company to get true feedback! The juices were a hit!

Two Friends Make a Splash with Winning Formulas for New Juices
At a time when multi-national food and beverage companies are scaling back operations and trying to identify the next trend to interest consumers, two friends are quietly stealing the show with their winning and innovative juice combinations.
On September 23, 2008, Donovan Hudson and Ellie Wizzard from Raw Foods International, LLC. in Miami claimed the award for the Best Non-Alcoholic Beverage in the new showcase competition for the 11th Americas Food and Beverage Show 2008 at an Awards Presentation Cocktail Reception at the Hotel Gansevoort in South Beach, Florida. A panel of leading food and beverage experts selected Raw Foods International, LLC as overall winners in the non-alcoholic beverage category.
“Our juices evolved from our restaurant,” explains Ellie. “People would arrive before the restaurant was opened each morning and waited, until we made the juices before the start of their day. One pregnant lady did it religiously as she said Cucumber Pineapple helped her with her nausea. After a while, we found ourselves increasing our production to meet demand, and also experimenting with new flavor combinations.” In addition to Cucumber Pineapple, the company also produces combinations such as: Better Beets; Carrot Lemonade; and Cranberry Ginger.
While the company makes no health claims, they can safely say however that the benefit from each juice they produce improves one’s health tremendously. The company only uses fruits and vegetables that have enough water and sugar from either family to sustain the products. These juices are made with pure fruits and vegetables, there is no sugar added, no preservatives, not even water! They are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, some with hypertension lowering benefits and their Cranberry Ginger assists with urinary infections. As for the Better Beets, it boosts stamina, allowing people to endure strenuous physical exercise for longer!
The company has began bottling the juices for national distribution. They recently signed up with Gourmet Distributors Systems, Inc. out of New York, Thompson Distributors in California, Pointe Dairy Distributors in Michigan, PDF Foods and Coza Distributors in Southeast Florida.
